Congrats to all of you Questers (the unofficial title for those who make Quest their church home and family)… as of March 2nd, Quest has been received into the Evangelical Free Church of America by delegates at the annual conference in Des Moines from the churches throughout the Central District. We officially join hundreds of other Free churches in the district, and nearly 1,500 throughout the United States, in this denomination. We therefore see ourselves as having joined with all the churches and ministries that are purposed to build God’s Kingdom in the lives of people throughout the world. We are just a small slice of that pie, but we are fired up to simply be a part.
It was a lot of work to get to this point and thanks to all who labored along the way. Thanks to First Evangelical Free Church for supplying the financial nest egg that got us started. Thanks to the Launch Team, we were aimed on the right trajectory from the beginning. Thanks goes to staff team that has stayed the course and worked really hard along the way. Thanks goes to those in the community that have helped us and served us like Crestview Middle School and The Wolf Public House. A big time thanks goes to those who make up the body of Christ at Quest… everyone of you, those who are the parts that make the whole of what it is and what it is supposed to be. Lastly, and definitely not least, we thank God for His gracious and generous provision and presence. This is His church. We do not own it. We are simply stewards of what He has given us and bond-servants committed to doing what He calls us to. We are purposed to be mirrors that reflect His beauty and heaters that radiate His truth and grace.
So, now the real work begins. There is a ton to do: people to get to know, programs to develop, a community to reach, kids to teach, students to love, needs to address, problems to solve, prayer to be offered, teams to establish, barriers to be hurdled, praises to be given and His voice to be heard. Everything in it’s time, and a time for everything. Some things are for now, others things will be for later. We will not do it perfectly, but we can do it together and do it honestly. God is able to do all that we ask or think and His timing is perfect.
So, congrats Questers! And “buckle up” because it is a Dangerous Calling (the theme of the Central District Conference this past week) that the Lord has given us.
Your bro,
Kevin

Great job! Special thanks also to Pastor Kevin Hughes (and Diane) who stepped out in faith to an unknown land. May God continue to use you and bless you through Quest.
