Setting Aside Time for Advent Planning

It’s no secret that families are often spread thin, so the idea of making time for a daily Advent activity at CHRISTMAS time sounds like total insanity. However, Christmas is such a special time of year, especially for our little ones, that we want to help make this easier.

Our society has slowly taken Christmas and turned it into something it was never really meant to be, shifted it away from Christ and the entire reason for celebrating. Much like those chocolate filled Advent calendars that count down the days to Christmas, our hope and goal for this event it to provide families with ideas for daily Christmas activities that will help build anticipation for Christmas Day as well as reinforce that Jesus is the focus. This has been something I’ve been doing for my kids since my oldest was only a couple of years old. It’s something they look forward to every year!

Whether you have little ones or bigger ones, activities and ideas can be easily tailored to fit your family’s needs. All you need to do is sign up and bring your family’s calendar. We will provide everything else for you! We’ll make a simple advent calendar, you’ll have time to think about and map out activities for the month of December and (maybe best of all) you’ll get time with ADULTS! I don’t know about you, but being a mom of three littles, I could use a bit more social interaction!

Does this sound like something you’d like to try doing for your family? Join us Thursday, November 9th at 7pm at Quest in the lower level. You can sign up on Sunday morning at the Ministry Table or you can use the form below. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me (Beth Sinak) or Karen Woolsey. See you there!
