Getting Plugged into the Quest Community

We have several ways that you can go about getting yourself or your family plugged into the Quest Community. We offer a few different Bible studies for men, women and even a marriage/relationanal based one coming up in a few weeks. We also have a variety of mid-sized groups that we have lovingly termed BLTs (where you can Belong, Learn and Transform). Over the next few weeks, we’ll have another handful of events, seminars and even a family camp that you can look into to get connected to, yes, the Quest community, but also encourage connection within your marriage or family, if that applies to you. Keep on reading to get the lowdown on all that Quest has to offer in this area…

Men’s Bible Study – Wednesday Mornings and Evenings

Our Quest Men’s Bible study is starting a new section of Authentic Manhood’s 33 the Series. On Wednesday, January 15th, the group will be starting A Man and His Marriage. You can join the group at either one of two times that it meets. The first option is 6:30am at The Wolf Cafe in Ballwin. You can also join the evening group that meets at 7pm at Quest. If you have any questions or would like to sign up, please contact Kevin Hughes.

Women’s Bible Studies

1 Corinthians – Friday Mornings

Join a group of women on Friday mornings from 10-11:30am as they dive into the book of Corinthians. This has been an ongoing study, but ladies are always welcome to join. It’s a great group no matter your schedule, if you can meet every Friday or you tend to be hit or miss. Contact Cheri Weber or sign up on Sunday mornings at the ministry table.

Trustworthy: Overcoming Our Greatest Struggles to Trust God – Tuesday Evenings

We are going to do an overview of I and II Kings using a study called “Trustworthy: Overcoming Our Greatest Struggles to Trust God” by Lysa Terkeurst. It is a six week study that we will do from February 25th to March 31st at my home. Based on feedback, we are going to meet from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. They will meet at Diane’s home, so please contact her for her address or you can get it from the Quest’s online directory.

When hard times come and it seems God is deviating from the plan we assume our life should follow, we’re more likely to want to tame God, not trust Him. It’s then that we begin to press into our ways and our own timing. No human can carry the weight of being their own god, but so many of us try.

In this 6-session study of 1 & 2 Kings, join Lysa TerKeurst in Israel as she honestly reveals the places of distrust in her own heart while exploring the deeply applicable Scriptures that will teach us how to truly trust God.

The link below has a 1:05 minute video clip that explains Lysa’s perspective on the study, and it contains a link to buy the book you will need for personal study.

Bible Study: The Meaning of Marriage

Kevin Hughes will be leading this 6-week study on Monday evenings at 7pm starting February 3rd. This is not a study for only those who are married. It explores many topics that are relevant to everyone. Based on the acclaimed sermon series by New York Times bestselling author Timothy Keller, this book shows everyone—Christians, skeptics, singles, longtime married couples, and those about to be engaged—the vision of what marriage should be according to the Bible.

Modern culture would have you believe that everyone has a soul mate; that romance is the most important part of a successful marriage; that your spouse is there to help you realize your potential; that marriage does not mean forever, but merely for now; and that starting over after a divorce is the best solution to seemingly intractable marriage issues. But these modern-day assumptions are wrong. Timothy Keller, with insights from Kathy, his wife of thirty-seven years, shows marriage to be a glorious relationship that is also misunderstood and mysterious. The Meaning of Marriage offers instruction on how to have a successful marriage, and is essential reading for anyone who wants to know God and love more deeply in this life.

You can sign up on Sunday mornings at the ministry table or email Kevin Hughes.

BLTs (Belong, Learn, Transform) Mid-sized Groups

On this journey through life, we are faced with joys and challenges in what seem to be the same breath. We NEED each other! However, our lives are full and it can be difficult to find time to invest in these relationships. At Quest, we offer an opportunity to do just that in the context of something called a BLT – Belong, Learn, Transform.

God created us to have meaningful relationships with all kinds of people no matter their age, gender or marital status. Jesus surrounded himself with friends of all kinds – they learned together, they prayed together, they touched the community together, they ate together and they laughed together.

A BLT is a mid-sized community group meeting every other week through out the year, breaking in the summer. We currently offer four groups that meet on various days so that you can hopefully find one to fit into your schedule.

Sunday afternoons at Quest, after service – led by Brian and Janet Carlin
Sunday late afternoons in Valley Park – led by Johnathan and Christa Walker *child friendly*
Sunday evenings in Wildwood – led by Thomas and Fredda-Lois Loafmann
Wednesday evenings in Fenton – led by Mike and Barb Rohman

Does this sound like something you want or even need? If so, you can email the leader of the BLT that works best with your schedule.

“…I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” –John 15:15
