We are all looking forward to this Sunday and the ‘dedication’ of our new home for Quest at 17126 Manchester Road, Wildwood, Missouri. To dedicate means to officially make a place for honoring or remembering a person, event, etc. In a Christian theology and worldview, the place that is dedicated to Christ is most essentially the human heart. That is where He is sanctified as King, Lord, Messiah and Master. We do not want to forget that the heart is the most important residence of the Spirit of God.
However, when in the course of the life of a church (a congregation, an assembly, a gathering of believers in Christ) it comes time to have a building to meet in, there is an appropriate stance to take of dedicating even that building to His glory, honor and use. That is what we are going to do this Sunday. We will never forget that the building is simply brick and mortar – there is nothing sacred about it. However, we do recognize that there is a value to having a place for a church to call home. We also recognize that home as a place where God can be honored by all who pass through the doors.
So, this Sunday, join us to dedicate our new ‘place’ to His glory. Can’t wait to see you there.
