As students head back to school, we want to make sure that Crestview can not only provide them with a great education, but can also provide for them nutritionally, if they need it. The Crestview food pantry needs help to stock their shelves once again. This is a program that sends food home with students on Fridays so that they’re sure to have good, quality food to eat over the weekend. How can you function and perform mentally if your basic needs for nutrition aren’t covered? That’s where Quest comes in…
If you would be willing to help donate food to the pantry, please bring it to Quest on Sunday mornings and put it in the food pantry crate in the lobby by the stairs. Some food items that are helpful are:
- Canned tuna or chicken
- Peanut butter and/or jelly/jam (in plastic containers please)
- Canned pasta like Chef Boyardee (no ramen please)
- Cereal in small, personal sized boxes
- Granola or cereal bars
- Canned fruits and veggies
- Peanut butter or cheese crackers
While the food pantry is very important, some of these kids also need help with having the right and new school supplies to start off their year. Crestview has expressed that they could use our help with providing some of these school supplies.
- Zippered, canvas binders (like Five Star)
- Folders with 3 holes so they can fit into the binders
- Backpacks (plain colors, no characters)
- Combination locks
- Notebooks and filler paper (wide ruled)
- Other commonly used supplies like pencils, pens, highlighters, markers, etc.
