Dear Quest,
This morning (Sunday), I shared that two police officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Force had been shot, one in the leg, the other in the head (that is all true) and that the critical head injury had been fatal (that was not accurate). Gratefully, that officer with the head injury is still alive and we pray he survives. I apologize for my mistake. I heard from two of my police contacts that he had passed. Somewhere along the way, the story gotten twisted and I shared without having a third source confirming the situation. I feel terrible that I shared something so profound that, in fact, proved not to be true.
Without trying to change the subject, I do want to encourage all of us who committed to prayer 9-1-1. That means that at 9 o’clock (morning and evening), we would pray for our First Responders (Firemen and women, medical personnel and the police who are under tremendous pressure and scrutiny).
